I dont know anything about it, other than that it is still there - was in Cambridge a few weeks ago and remember seeing it.
Cambridge record office may have something

I think that it caught fire some years back and was eventually turned into Bar Ha Ha! which changed to Strada (both bar/restaurant chains) this year.

It is on Trinity Street.
