Wickhambrook Parish Records 1697-1731 - RUTTER
« on: Thursday 12 April 07 08:04 BST (UK) »
Hi
Does anyone have access to these.  I have contacted the lady on Suffolk surnames but she doesn't have them.  It seems they are only available on microfilm.

I am looking for Dorcas Rutter.  I have found that she was born in Wickhambrook in 1718.  I am hoping to find her christening and her parents names.  I have her marriage and burial dates.

If anyone can help I will be very grateful.
Thanks
Olive

Ooooh!

I thought Jill in Australia was my volunteer for Wickhambrook.

I had better contact her and find out what is going on - have you sent me a message via the web site to advise me of this problems Olive ?

Most of Wickhambrook All Saints  is available on 28 fiches, however 1697-1731 is only available on a roll of film for viewing at the SRO.

Ah ha!  I have just realised that you are looking at the beginning of the roll of film time period . . . . . .

Time to lie down in a darkened room I think  ::)

Hi SM
Don't let the stress get you.  Jill has been great, really helpful.  That's where I found out that it's on film.  But you'd worked that out hadn't you.

No time for hot toddys
although I might be able to find a cold Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio  ;D
Just about to think about what I shall cook for supper before himself gets home.
I have been working on Suffolk Local History Council work this afternoon - hence muddled mind  ::)

Jill earned a well deserved accolade from the Suffolk Family History Society last year too.

all best wishes, SM   ;)  ...

Hi Olive,

I attempted to have a look at the microfilm for you today, but the one you need is only held at Bury St Edmunds RO.
The film of Wickhambrook that I was able to look at only had marriages and MI's.
Hopefully another rootschatter will be able to go to Bury for you.

Sorry!

Anne

Ooops!

I did mean to add - when looking at the marriages I spotted

Thos Rutter m. Lydia Ship
18 June 1707

Thought I'd make a note of it just in case.

Hi Anne
Thanks for looking.  Will keep that extra bit safe, it might fit somewhere, someday.
