Aw Scrimnet

Enjoyed seeing the photos you posted and being educated a wee bit on the Northamptonshires.

Ref:  the photo of them in their bush hats, were they going out to, or coming back from the Far East at that parade?  It's a really good photo with them well turned out.  ;)

I'm sure many others will find the Order of Battle details very informative too.

Morning Anne

This was the welcome back pde in Northampton after the rtn of the bn from Burma. They were part of the "Forgotten 14th" Army, and distinguished themselves in actions such as the crossing of the Irrawaddy. Lt Col Taunton went on to become a Brigadier, and his wife was active as a local councillor in the village.

Hi All

Now this is really freaky I posted this pic to ask about colors. I dont know the lady who's pic it is but I posted it for her as she was having trouble doing it herself I dont even know where she is from. But through all the posts coming back the mention of Northampton and also the picture made me do a double take because thats where I live and the shop in the background (Montague Jefferey) is still there.   ;D

Small world.

Pete
Hi Everyone

PLEASE SCAN ALL PICS AT 300 - 600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES.  THANK YOU!
