Thanks Richard for your time. It was really my Great Grandmother Jessie that I was interested in but got carried away with the Curtis family. That what genealogy does to you.

So do you still need any information?
Presumably you have now seen the 1871 entry for Peter Tinney, or would you like me to post it?

Not sure about the 1871 census, found a Peter Tinney b 1819, boarder. Bottem of page torn.

 Had the children and aware Alfred joined joined the navy eventually marrying a lady called Alice.
 But I was wrong regarding the 1871 census entry.
Noticed Mary Ann was born in 2 different places according to the census.
