Hi JJ

Am so sorry   :-[

the page navigation number on the web site of the ships manifest is 25 26 27 which is page 5 on the ships manifest

the other C's are on page 24 25 26 - page 4 on the ships manifest.

They all seem to be in alphabetical order ish - and these seem to be all the C's for 3rd class to Canada

Sorry again and thank you again very much for helping

k

Oh, boy I do hope that scanner got paid well for that hard day's work (NOT!)
How hard is it to do some adjustments on the scanner and program? But oh, no...it's off to the next page, same setting everytime no matter how dark or light...In other words...No luck really, it was likely easier to read before...
There is so little information in the lousy scan that I can't pick out any more from the image. It likely is your couple as the 2nd name looks like Katie...But the surname hasn't enough letters...I think it looks to say Chambern....but if you have them leaving Liverpool as well,  then it's likely just quick jotting on the part of the information taker

I'll post anyway......#$*!#*!!!!   Sorry I couldn't do any better...when I scan my own at the archives I can bring in images that are barely grey on white...but one needs enough bits and pixels to work with first....

Thank you so much for trying JJ - am sorry it took soo long - is just my luck with these 2 - have looked and looked and those 2 names seem to be the nearest to Edwin and Kate ...even if the name above looks like it begins with an A  :-\

Chambern makes sense as the space they had to write in was restricted ....was imaging how long it would have taken to write all those names down and in alphabetical order....

Thank you very much again for spending time on this for me...it is very much appreciated

After finding the ships manifest on the collectionscanada scrolling through the names I came across 'British Bonus Allowed' stamped by what I think are the names of the Chamberlains (the writing is so faded I can hardly make it out)  but does anyone have any idea what  this meant please.

There is an explanation of British Bonus Allowed at http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/canada/manifest-markings.shtml   YOu have to look down the page a bit to see it, it is below the 2 column list of what is available in Canadian Passenger Lists before and after 1865.
Simpson, Fuller, Page, Stead, Caspall, Philpott, Williams, Elvery, Whibley, Fryer/Friar, Sutton, Grant, Allard, Packman, Steadman, Norris, Drury, Boughton, Spratt, Munday, Rabbit, Wildbore

I miss everyone here too.

I'll do my best to get 'round to the neighbourhood more often and hopefully help answer questions about Immigration to Canada :-)
