Jane SHEPPHARD St Peter & St Paul Wincanton
« on: Sunday 15 April 07 23:07 BST (UK) »
Hi

The National Burial Index records the Burial at St Peter & St Paul, Wincanton of my G G G Grandmother

Jane Shepherd date of Burial 16 January 1877 age 79 yrs

Can anybody give me any ideas on how to find out if there is a headstone on the grave and if so how I could obtain a photograph.

Thanks

Cass

Hi

An index of Somerset Monumental Inscriptions includes this entry:

Jane Shepherd  died 11 Jan 1877.....Memorial type:  Headstone

Maybe an obliging rootschatter living in the area could photograph the headstone for you?

Sorry, should have verified the MI was from St. Peter and St Paul, Wincanton and that Jane was 79 when she died.

Thank you for the information, now I know that there is or was a headstone at onetime. I wonder how long ago the MI record was made.

Thanks again

Cass

The index of MI's is an ongoing online project so I assume the details were recorded in recent times.

The church is still in use:
