would the 'currier' be a 'carrier' - some one who 'carries' goods on a wagon or cart?
Just to be awkward, see Old Occupations website: http://rmhh.co.uk/occup/c2.html
Currier  1) Dressed the coat of a horse with a curry comb 2) Tanned leather by incorporating oil or grease

What a great website! I have now found the answers to a few mystery's - I will still attach the images for you though.
I think I've got a Victualler - I couldn't understand it at the time.

And again - this is the other one.
Both the same guy - his son Robert is listed as a tailor with the right age on both these marriage certificates...

Very odd and only 6 years between. However, Romilly had a funny and I eventually found that the person was both a mason/rockman and a beer seller, so.........

Could he have been both  ???

Neither say he was deceased though. Mmmmmmmm....

So this means that he went from being a currier to a victualler between the two weddings (1842 and 1848).
I am now hoping to find him on a census with one of these two occupations so I can confirm that it's him with some degree of certainty.

In 1841 census they live at Glenluce Main St, Wigtownshire with the household being:
Agnes McLelland 40
George McLelland 10
John McLelland 60
John McLelland 5
Peter McLelland 3
Here his occupation is shoem (shoemaker?) - one year before he's meant to be a currier (could he be shoeing horses and working their coats?)

In 1861 at the same address is:
Agnes McLelland 63
John McLelland 63
Agnes Neill 7  - granddaughter
John Neill 14  - grandson

Most notably Agnes has "lost" 20 years?? But same address and same names seems like a bit more than coincidence - but I'm learning not to assume....

His occupation in 1861 is listed as "male catcher" (from the website you gave me I know Male could be the bag's used by the royal mail; so catcher might be someone who helped sort the bags?? - but this seems another big jump from his other occupations).

No results for 1851 yet - and assuming it is them they should still be at the same address....

Is there a way to search for an address - without using names?
