Is there any one researching the HAMMOND's in Kent.

I have a James HAMMOND born around 1800 or just before who was a mariner and married in Sunderland in 1823 to Ann REAY

There is no record at all for the HAMMOND family in Sunderland and it is thought that he came from Kent. There being a ship route from Newcastle, London & Kent.

Any ideas any one please.

Do you have James & Ann on 1851 census (or later)which should give his birthplace?

Unfortunately died after 1825 & before 1833


Can not find any entry for his death either.
Know he died between these years as his youngest son Abraham was born 1825 and his mother re-married 1833.
