According to SDGW, the only G. Kay listed as being from Liverpool is as follows:

George Kay
Born Liverpool
Enlisted Liverpool
Private 390158, Labour Corps
Died of Wounds 25/5/1918, France & Flanders
formerly 39714, N. Lancs Regt
Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.

Obviously very late to this but I believe that this is the man Goggy was searching for.

Based on at least one of Goggy' other posts I can confirm that he also lived at 12 Every St, Liverpool. He was my Great Grandfather, my Grandfather being his son John James Kay. I have visited his last resting place at Vignacourt Military Cemetery, France twice now and have downloaded copies of various records relating to him from Ancestry
