Marriage in Clifton 1850 - Tippett/Johns
« on: Thursday 19 April 07 08:00 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I am assuming Clifton was in Somerset at this time??

I have found a marriage for John Tippett and Mary Ann Johns in 1850 in Clifton.

Trying to ascertain their parents. IGI seems to suggest Mary's are Emanuel and Tamzine......

Census shows John's as John but no mother........he is Cornish bred (census in Cornwall show him variously as born between 1809 & 1815) and she appears (again, according to IGI) to have been born in Chipstable in 1820.

If anyone could confirm this, I'd appreciate it.

many thanks
Phil

think Clifton is probably Gloucestershire as it's north of the river Avon. Does this upset your theory?
