Yes Christopher that is the one I would like info on.  It seems that they have quite alot of info on my family, but I am not sure how to go about doing it.  I live in the U.S.

Thank you for your reply.  It is much appreciated.

Hi mvm

I've used the site quite a bit and found it very useful.  It's not cheap, about £6 I think per record, but if you think of it as cheaper than applying for actual certs it seems better value!

You basically choose a surname, and get to see a list of possible records, then you get to see 5 of them in detail for your £6.  If you're sure that you have ancestors on the database, I'd go for it.  If you have a lot of people to look up, it might be worth your while buying annual membership, then you get a discount on the records.  All of this info is on their website

www.ancestryireland.com

Good luck with your research

Thanks Jaylay for your response.
I was not sure that the info would be worthwhile.  So far I have 7 who are listed on the site and it corresponds with my findings in regards to the year - but wanted to know who their parents would be.

Thank you again.  The picture posted on you site is great.

Thanks for that mvm - the pic is of my grandmother.

If you are looking for a marriage record on Ancestry Ireland, if you do a search, say for John Kelly, once you have paid your £6, all the records in the set that correspond to John Kelly, will show the father's name and the parish of marriage, so you can hopefully narrow it down before viewing your allowed five records (hope I am explaining this clearly enough!).  So for instance, if you knew the parish, then you can narrow it down, and same if you know the father's name.

Thank you for your quick response.

I thought I could pick 5 different names. For example: my G GF Bernard COLE was b 1835 and m was 1859.
My G GF John TRAYNOR m was 1851,  GM Anne COLE b 1863, GF Felix McCLORY b 1858.  They are all listed.

Would these then be my 5  OR  do I have to pick 5 from the list that comes up for the particular name?

Also - how do I pay?  Are Credit Card Number secure on this site?

The picture of your GM was beautiful.  Thank you for sharing.
Do you have the original on a post-card?  That is how my parents received a copy of their Mothers after they left Ireland.  They had the post-card enlarged and put in a bubble frame.  I have both GM hanging by my fireplace here at home in Michigan.  Where do you live?
Thank you for your kindness.

Hi.
I found the marriage of Felix McClory and Anne Cole, on Emerald Ancestors, date 29 April 1884, in Rostrevor Roman Catholic Church.
Hope it's useful.

Hi mvm

No you pick one name and do a search - then several pages of possible matches come up (depending on whether you have specified a year or not) - I normally do not specify a year, because then you get more possibilities.  Your credit card is secure - you get directed to a secure pay site.  I've certainly never had any problems in that regard.

The picture of my grandmother that you admired was from an original studio portrait of her, aged around 17 or so, which was then beautifully restored by a wonderful person here on the Photo Restoration board!
