I dont know about that .As the site is double password protected,I have always put all my certificates and census images on about 250 last count and have never been asked to remove anything.

Hi Isobelruss,

I didn't mean it was not allowed at Tribal Pages...but not allowed generally, on ANY site.  In other words the National Archives would not like it.

Not meaning to scare anyone, and if I am wrong, forgive me.  But isn't it even posting certificates discouraged at this very site too....and the preferred way of passing on information is transcription?

I would hate to see anyone get into trouble over it.

Hello Nina
I dont know what the copyright law is but Ancestry allows you to send images to a friend and save and print them.I was also told that with the census discs you are allowed to make personal copies for backup but you cannot sell them, you can give them away  .It seems a bit of a grey area to me.I used to put images on  Roots web site and they were never removed.

Maggie,

I would highly recommend it - it's the BEST !!!!! I haven't found anything as good and secure as TribalPages.

IF you stick with the free version you do have some restrictions such as number of downloads and/or uploads of your tree, numbers and types of family tree charts, and possibly numbers of photos (I think).

Its probably worth it to pay the  $24 US per year (at least that was the cost 2 years ago when they first switched to subscription). I used to have my trees up at Tribal pages, but have now removed them - personal choice.

Have just come across these articles about Tribal Pages, I was told about it from a friend in NZ. It's a fantasic site, I typed in my ancestors name and up came some great photos of the family whilst they were in Utah USA. I then contacted the person who had put the photos on the site and he very kindly sent me a CD with loads of family photos.  Certainly worth signing up.

Hi Carol,

I agree - Tribalpages is definitely the only place I will put my Family Tree.  I think it's terrific and have just upgraded today to the premium site.
