« on: Sunday 22 April 07 16:30 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Daniel and Catherine Delvard.

I am not sure if they were from Clare or not, just a hunch.

Daniel was born abt 1815
Catherine abt 1825
Their children were
Honour or Hannah born 1847
Catherine born 1849
John born abt 1852

The moved to England just after 1852 before 1854

Any information greatly appreciated
Kind regards
Su

Su, there is a submitted entry on: www.familysearch.com for the following

John Delvard - Birth/christening about 1853, Cork, Ireland
Father: Daniel Delvard; Mother Catherine Hanlon

Could this be one of the children?

Su, have a look on that website familysearch.  There is also a few other entries and one for Daniel's birth showing about 1822.  If that is the family, looks like they were in the Cork area.

Hey Su !

How lucky is that ? Just one posting on here and *BINGO*, looks like you've found your Delvards, and they came from CORK !

John's  Birth entry is on the Pedigree Resource File of Familysearch.org, and you'll see that the submitter is a lady from Lincolnshire, how about that ?

Now, you'll be able to get in touch with the Cork Heritage Centre at:-

Cork City Ancestral Project
c/o Cork County Library
Farranlea Road
Cork
Ireland
TEL: + 353 (0) 21 54699

Good luck !

Hi Dee and Mobo
Well what can I say...this is super.  Why didn't I think of Familysearch?  Possibly because it never entered by head  ::)  This is definitely the correct family.  I didn't think they would be so easy to trace in a million years.

Thanks again you two.

Hugs all round

Hi all,  If anyone is still on this post  Daniel Delvard and Catherine Hanlon are my Great, great, great Grandparents.   We now live over in Bolton Lancashire.   Does this make me a little bit Irish?
