Trying to trace  any information on Charles Taylor who was a Colour Sergeant and served with the Lancaster fusiliers. In 1881-1883 found 1st battalion regiment  in Cork Ireland around this time he Married a Hannah Cronin, would like marriage information. In 1883 The regiment moved to fermoy Barracks in County Cork presumed where 1st daughter was born Phoebe Taylor in May 1883. Net stop for this battalion was Chatham England in 1885 but they had another daughter Lottie Geraldine Taylor born in Belfast in 1884 no record of battalion in Belfast. the regiment were listed as being in Manchester in 1888, and Scotland in 1889 where the family are found on the 1891 census for Scotland in 1891 the regiment were in Belfast where Charles Died at the Royal Victoria Barracks on the 6th of May 1891 of a Heart attack.

You can search the marriage indexes for them. Check the reference matches for each name and that’s the right page. These are available at the Dublin GRO or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints) http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.

The marriage cert will give you both the father's names, their occupations and addresses and sometimes whether they are dead. The witness names can sometimes be useful.

Then you have to take the reference to the Dublin or Roscommon GRO for a copy of the register entry. www.groireland.ie

Do you know if you have to make an appointment to turn up to your local lds centre?? Or do you just turn up??
