Hi Tees

Only have 2 days left on my subscription (just got it for a month to see what it was like) - so you're in luck!

No Alexander Henning marriages I'm afraid, but 10 marriages of William McElroy:

1848  Jane Irwin
1853  Elizabeth Buchanan
1859  Agnes Moorehead
1865  Jane Robinson
1876 Elizabeth Kitchen
1877 Ann Jane Carroll
1879  Rachel Carrick
1882  Rebecca Mathers
1883  Margaret Strain
1894  Eliza McElroy (maybe a cousin or something??)

If you want further details on any of these just let me know

Hi Jaylay!

Thanks for looking up for me:

Can you please tell me a bit more about the first three William McElroy marriages on the top of your list?

Let's hope this is right one--sometimes this surname is spelt McIlroy!

Just to see if the church is the same one his daughter got married in or not.

Kind regards,

Tees

PS Henning is even worse!! It kept misspelt! His son's marriage showed him as Heiney!

Hi Jaylay,

Thank you for looking up on these marriages.

Will hold onto these information as you never know.

Think I will have to send for his daughter's baptism record to find out who her mother was.

Appreciate your help very much!

Kind regards,

Tees

TEES:
Sorry to butt in here but.....

If I understood correctly, Thomas McKenna was born in 1882 and James McKenna was born in 1885?  Both in Scotland?

I searched on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
There are only:

4 matches for Thomas McKenna during 1882
And
7 matches for James McKenna during 1885.

Even if you were really unlucky and had to check all 11 of the entries, it would cost you £12/£18.

But Scottish birth certificates show the place and date of the parents marriage.

Go for it...!!

Genealogists don't die, they just lose their census.

Hi Mary Derry!

Bless you for your gem finding re: Francis McKenna's birth in 1872. I went back to the Family Search.org as you obviously got this information from there.

Found two more children to this couple in Ireland. Firstborn had the forename of his deceased grandfather/his mum's father which confirmed that the Francis McKenna and Mary Jordan is my couple.

With the information off the death record of Francis McKenna, I was able to identify a correct marriage record.
Sadly, it is only the church marriage entry, not civil one.

UHF made quite a pretty penny on this one! 6 pounds for a mere entry!

Nevertheless, I have a right Mary Jordan and her husband now. That is the main thing! The entry has my great great grandfather as the witness to his sister's marriage and it also showed that she had to get a dispensation from her parents (clearly, a parent--her mum) in order to marry him and it noted her parent's residence which is spot on!

The only thing confuse me terribly is that it was in Shankill which was mostly Protestant--quite surprised to see the Catholic church in this area as I thought this church was supposed to be in Falls area.

MaryDerry, thank you for that finding! With your help, I was able to confirm that Mary Jordan I found in the US marriage records was mine. :)

Kind regards,

Tees
