Re- Apprenticeship Records for Shropshire
« on: Tuesday 24 April 07 05:50 BST (UK) »
Apprenticeship records for George Venables Furmston. Born Jan 1830 at Ellesmere in Shropshire -
Married Dec 1851 in the parish of Llanllwchaiarn Montgomery Wales.
He is on the 1851 census for Lancashire as a visitor and listed as a "Saddler Journeyman".
From the little knowledge I have this tells me he did an apprenticeship.
Does any one know if records were kept and where they could be found.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have absolutely no idea about Apprenticeship Records, but I would suggest that you telephone or email the Shropshire Archives.  I'm sure someone there will be able to help you.

Thanks Lloydy,  Apparently App records at this time were held by those concerned, this is the information from Shropshire archives and Lichfield record office. Guess I'm not meant to have them!
