HI Marhat

There is only one birth showing in Ayr and that's in 1812:

Thomas Bickerstaff  Birth: 10 AUG 1812  Girvan, Ayr, Scotland
Parents: Father: Hugh Bickerstaff    Mother: Helen Rogers

Did your Thomas marry in Scotland or England. There is a marriage in 1842 showing for a Thomas to an Agnes Bennet, is this his?

Regards.

There's a marriage showing in Birmiingham:

THOMAS BICKERSTAFFE     Marriages:Spouse: ANN BAILEY
Marriage:  04 AUG 1828  Saint Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England

If this is him, then that 1812 birth entry wouldn't be his (he would be to young for this marriage) so probably an entry closer to 1806 as indicated by the censuses.

I'm struggling here though down to lack of info! Do you have the names of his children and order of birth. You might get some clues from there.

Regards.

Hi Marhat

I cannot as yet see an entry for Thomas's birth in Scotland, I'll keep looking.

There are a couple of extra children for Thomas and Ann:

SARAH BICKERSTAFF  Birth: 13 MAY 1823  Christening: 10 SEP 1827 Saint Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England

REBECCA BICKERSTAFF  Birth: 14 OCT 1829   Christening: 26 DEC 1835 Saint Martin, Birmingham, Warwick, England

The family's 1841 Census entry in Birmingham:

Thomas Bigerstaffe    30
Ann Bigerstaffe    30
Sarah Bigerstaffe    13
Rebecca Bigerstaffe    10
Thomas Bigerstaffe    8
William Bigerstaffe    6
Isaac Bigerstaffe    4
Ann Bigerstaffe    1

Regards.

i have been studying and have seen that Sarah was born before their parents got married, and it means that Ann would have been 42 when the youngest son David was born.

i wonder if there is any info on Sarah b1823
                                       and Rebecca b1829

   thanks
