Monks Risborough is relatively close to the Oxfordshire/Bucks border. Oxfordshire FHS also have a marriage index. Always a risk though - it may also draw a blank.

Thanks Valda, but I have looked at the OxFHS marriage index.  That was my first stop.

I think I'll have to check for siblings of my William Stevens(1801)Monks Risborough, and see if there are any clues to be gleaned from them.

I used to live in Aylesbury and visited often. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I am sure if you give them a ring, they can help you. If my memory serves me well, there is a bishops transcript for Monks Risborough. I would imagine if you phone they will read it for you whilst you are on the phone.

Hi Folks, thought I'd better give an update.

Thomas STEPHENS married Jane Franklin 15 Oct 1780 - Adstock, Bucks.  They settled in Little Kimble and had a brood of kids.  Then moved into Meadle, Monks Risborough.

So no connections to the Dinton Stevens/Stephens............YET.
