Suffolk Surname Interests
« on: Monday 30 April 07 17:03 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

I'm new to this list, so I'll begin by adding my Suffolk family's surnames:

GIRLING/MARSHALL from Wickham Market.
PAXMAN from Framlingham.
BUCKINGHAM from Wickham Market.

Would be great to hear from anyone who shares the same Suffolk family names.

Lesley.

Hello Lesley and welcome.  You would be best off really adding your surnames to the Surnames Interest Table.   Scroll down to the bottom and click on Your Surname Interests and follow the directions from there.

regards

Liz

Welcome to RootsChat, Lesley!  I hope you find some contacts - it looks as if you have been researching for a while to gather all your names.

Are you related to Jeremy Paxman?  I'm sure his family came from Suffolk.

There are still Paxman's in the town if you look at the baptisms in the 1800s there were a lot of Paxmans' being baptised.

Hi

Yes, Jeremy Paxman's ancestors did come from Framlingham. A Thomas Paxman born in about 1799 in the village but moved away to Bradford, Yorkshire in 1836. I have that episode of "Who Do You Think You Are" on DVD.

I have surname interests in Framlingham as well. Titshall and Teager.
