Slow on this side as well.  :( However, I'm glad that there's now more maps to choose from.

Yes, it seems slower, but I could still zoom in and out, and move left, right, up, down, etc.  I won't comment on whether or not one can, or should, copy the maps ?

It seems quicker to pan across the maps and the same image magnification is available - I think it is an improvement?

I think you can still see the larger map - try using the bottom icon on the left of the map window.

Heh, I must say that I shouldn't look at re-vamped sites with a 10-yr old computer running a 5-yr old browser!  :D  On the 'modern' computer I was able to see an enlarged view, though still not quite as enlarged as it used to be.

Having the maps from different years is interesting, but overall I'm not all that impressed with the 'improvements'.

You can definitely zoom in, but I have been unable to get a full screen, enormous view of the map like you used to be able to do on the old site.  I saved loads of those to my computer, so at least I have those still.

What a shame  :'(

Prue, once you get to the actual map, click the bottom icon on the right (as illustrated below). But ... make sure that you don't have pop-ups disabled.  I had to enable pop-ups for that page in (Mac) Firefox to see it.

I think they could have made a much more positive "relaunch" - it looked like bad news (paying for maps) and so we took it to be bad news.

The controls (left and right side of the frame) actually allow you to do at least as much as before & being able to buy a "posh copy" of a map of the ancestral village might be quite appealing - once we get over the shock, lol!

How embarrassed am I!!  :-[  Of course it was Firefox blocking the pop-up - I didn't even think of that!    Now I've tried it and it works fine, and I'm a happy bunny!  :D

Thanks!

Arrr I use Firefox too, that is probably why I can't see the full screen either.   :-[ :-[

Will check when I get home tonight.  Thanks
