Watson's Census Lookup request.
« on: Wednesday 02 May 07 09:05 BST (UK) »
Dear all.

I am looking for these people on the 1891 and earlier than 1881 census.

1881 Census

Frederick Keighley WATSON - Carpenter / Joiner age 35 b. Laceby Lincoln
Margaret Elizabeth WATSON (nee RAYNOR) - wife age 34 b. Kirton Lindsey, Licoln
Arthur Raynor WATSON - son age 13 scholar b. Laceby Lincoln (becomes post official)
Annie WATSON - dau age 11 scholar b. Grimsby Lincoln
Frederick WATSON - son age 7 scholar b. Grimsby Lincoln
Gertrude WATSON - dau age 2 b. Eklington Derby

They were living in Ashland Road, Eklington Derby at the time of the census.

Arthur at least emigrated to Australia and married there in 1897. Just trying to find
out if they all came in or just him and the timeline as well as earlier census information.

any help would be greatly appreciated.  ;D

thankyou

Vonnie

Thankyou muchly Geoff - that was quick !

For some strange reason the couple Frederick and Margaret - married
at Hull in 1867. Maybe they had family there as his middle name is Keighley
and there is a Keighley in Yorkshire...

At least I know they were in Grimsby in 1871.

thankyou very much

Mary 47

Isn't Octavius the name for an 8th son/child?  You could be chasing a big family!

Octavius WATSON 38 Yardman, Kirton (indexed as Peterius WALDEN)
Mary 37
Mary 16

John 3
Samuel 1
Others born Laceby

I can't see Fred and family in 1891.

1841
Laceby
Octavius WATSON 30 Draper
Mary 28
Mary 7
Matilda 4
Maria 1
All born Lincs

I noticed in 1851 there were other WATSONs from Kirton living in Laceby - there must have been a family migrated there at some stage.  One of my ancestors was a William WATSON (1868) from Kirton; perhaps there is a link.

I'm going out now.

Hi, I saw your post about Arthur Raynor Watson. His first wife died in 1905. They had a daughter Gertude Ann Watson b 1898. She married George James Dick in 1921 in Perth Western Australia.
Arthur remarried in 1906 to Amy Catherine Hocking 1880 - 1948. They had two children Philippa Beryl Watson 1908 - 1986 and Arthur Henry Watson 1912 -1963. Arthur died in 1945 in Victoria Park, Western Australia.
