Isabella (Isobel) Wilson of Market Harborough Leicestershire

Hi,

I am trying to locate the family (parents, siblings) of Isobel Wilson.  I have found her in 1871 with her husband Frederick Russon.  The marriage record gives her name as Wilson.

Unfortunately I have been unable to locate her in the 1861 census!!!  Very elusive she is!  So far no clues as to other family members.

I have yet to obtain her marriage cert which should give her fathers name.

Any help appreciated!!

When was she born  according to the 71 census, also that reference would be helpful.

Well the 1871 census gives her age as 21 so it would indicate that she was born about 1850.  But I have found that allowing a couple of years either way makes it easier to find individuals.......... mostly!!  Except for this Isobel I have not had any luck either way!!

I think you need to send for this as you need more info to track her down on the census's. Once you get her fathers name, it should be easier.

I will definitely have to get her marriage certificate!! as well as birth cert.

By the way Christine,

 In the marriage index's it is given exacty as I have transcribed FRED not FREDRICK, they are very particular, if it does not match exactly they  will not raise it.

The same goes for the birth.

That's interesting isn't it!!  Makes it difficult.

Fred and Isabella's granddaughter Mary Ann Marjorie was registered as that but on her marriage certificate it is just Mary Marjorie!!

I dont think they would be so particular with middle names especially if you had the reference .

As you say it make things difficult , try getting one when they have changed thier christian name, as my gt, grandfather did    it took me years to track him down.
