Here is a link that will tell you what is needed to order the file on either Harold Cook or Benjamin Cook or John Cook.

http://www.collectionscanada.ca/genealogy/022-909.007-e.html

As someone had to have sent in the photo and obituary for Harold, you might want to get in touch with Veterans Affairs. I don't know if they can help or not, but it might be worth asking.

I will try and find this article to the Toronto Star. If I do, I will let you know.

Here is a copy of the page from the Toronto Star. It lists the the units that Benjamin and John were in. It also states that Percy died in 1930. (There is also another photo of Harold). If you would like a better copy of this page, then please send me a personal message with your email. Please do not post your email on this page.

Here is a link for the 1922 Directory for Toronto. It shows 3 Percy Cook's. After clicking on the link, go to page 747.

It appears Agnes Cook crossed the border 23 Sept 1916 at Niagara Falls NY.
Temporary Sojourn..??middle of WWI was he avoiding serving by going to the States??
Born 1890 est., St Helena , England
Husband- Percy
Date landed in Canada May 1913 Empress of Ireland
7 Gerard St. W. was the currnet address
She was 26 years 7 mos old and described as 5'6" with brown hair and blue eyes.
I've been working on the marriage date but haven't found it yet.
There are a number of Percy Cooks in the service records but I can't find an identifying detail.?? Just back from the big city..more later

Here is a link to the original posting. (so that there is no doubling up of information.)

According to the newspaper article for Harold, it looks as though Percy did serve during the first world war.  R.C.A. - Royal Canadian Artillery. I checked for court martials, but there were none. I still can't find him listed on the national archives.
