GEORGE JOSEPH BOWYER
« on: Wednesday 02 May 07 15:28 BST (UK) »
This is a long shot but don't ask don't get is my motto and the brilliance of  the researches on this site I am sure will not let me down.

I am looking for George Joseph Bowyer who it is believed went to the USA and was a cowboy. When? No idea but he was born 27 July 1837 in London UK St Lukes Middlesex.

George first ship was HMS Waterloo  which he joined as a boy 1st class rating on January 1st 1861

His date of discharge from HMS Fisgard was 16 May 1857

1881 Census was a Gas Fitter

He was married to Louisa Day she was born 29 Sep 1844

They had  6 kids. Louisa Julia, George Joseph, Alfred, Maria Eliza, Emily Priscilla, William Valentine

1871 he was a Mariner

In 1861 he was at sea on the HMS Ganges able seaman

Sorry I have no more info but we cannot even find his death cert and am pretty certain he died in the USA.

Son William was last to be born in UK in 1885 when his father was 48 so bit late for kids and emigrating

Any other info you need to assist your search please ask and I will see if I can dig out any other info

A big thank you in advance

Mr B
