Abergavenny Newspapers 1891
« on: Friday 04 May 07 15:22 BST (UK) »
Hi, Does anyone know where I could locate Newspapers for Abergavenny for April 1891. 1891 Census taken 5th April and in lodging house at 19 Flannel Street Abergavenny there were six German Musicians, the names of two I am interested in and wondered if they were here for a concert or Music Festival. May turn out to be red herring but info may give length of stay. Many thanks for any help given. Syljun

Kelly's Directory of 1901 mentions the Abergavenny Chronicle and Monmouth Advertiser established 1871. There's a paper now called the Abergavenny Chronicle but I don't know whether it's the same paper.

Hope this helps.

Check with Newport Central Library, I believe you will find old issues of the Abergavenny Chronicle newspapers on film there in their collection.
anything and everything to do with the village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in Gwent.
