Marriage help Lookup
« on: Monday 07 May 07 00:49 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Is anyone able to help me find a marriage in Ireland at all?

My Great Great Grandfather Thomas Brind married in Derry to Elizabeth. All i know is that she was born about 1822. We have no other date of birth details for Thomas but i do know that he met Elizabeth when he was stationed in Ireland with the 14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment of Foot.

He also had a sone James with Elizabeth and  I would like to find his birth certificate also but have no idea where to start with Irish genealogy and hope you kind folks can help!

Thanks
Lisa

Lisa- no marriages for Thomas Brind in County Londonderry listed in index at Irish Genealogy. Civil registration for Protestant marriages began 1845 and Catholic marriages 1864. Birth & death registration also start in 1864.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

HI and thanks for that.
I get the feeling that as Thomas was in the 14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment of foot, he may very well have had a military marriage. Could this be listed somewhere else? I really dont know where to look on that front.

Is there an Irish Genealogy site where i can poke about? I dont mind paying a subscription as there are a couple of other irish links that i have that i could check out at the same time/

Cheers in advance and thanks for looking for me.
