Hello Lisa and all..............I'm the Mary in question. My grandparents lived in Pear Tree Cottage, Back Lane, Souldrop and I''ve been trying to find out a bit more of the history of the cottage. My grandparents rented it from the local farmer, Mr. Gulliver (can't remember his christian name) ....not sure who owned it prior to that. There are several farms in Souldrop and looking at the earlier censuses it's hard to work out which farm it was but I think it was Church Farm.
Bit of a mystery............not an important thing in the grand scheme of family history but just one of those things that I'd like to know.
