Palmer and Buswell of Leicestershire

Many thnaks, that's what i found, but i added a few more posts to see if i could get help and other people found more info on Betsy Buswell, and she was living with her mother and grandparents, but the last names where spelt different. All a bit confuising?

Where does the information come from that Mary's mother was Betsy? Not from the marriage cert I suppose. Do you have the marriage cert?

I got Mary's birth certificate and it says Betsy Buswell and no father. Havn't got Mary and Henry's marriage certificate. Can't find the info onthe interent to be able to order it. I am not so good at knowing where or how to look  enless it pops up straight away!!! bit of an amateur!!!

How do you know the Mary whose birth cert you have is the right Mary?

Mary Ann Buswell born Clipstone ca. 1860 is still single in Market Harborough in 1901 ... 

If the 1891 census posted in my first reply is right then I really don't think the one born Clipston/e is yours.

If you search FreeBMD (http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl) for a marriage between a Henry William Palmer and a Buswell, this is the only one that pops up:

September quarter 1882
Leicester 7a 350
Henry William Palmer - Mary (not Mary Ann) Buswell

You need to order the above marriage certificate - it will (hopefully!) tell you Mary's father's name and occupation 
(My bet is on George! )

I have Mary's Birth certificate and there is no father named just a mother called Betsy from Clipston.
Betsy never married?
