hi suz.
well you have the correct john it was a few years after that , that he emmigrated wellington joined him shortly after. the father james was born c1770 which means he may well have passed away before the census began. the other children were james 1799- william -1802 mary -1826elizabeth-1806 i think there maybe more. other than this all i know is that they were all from the pucklechurch area of bristol, john may have only spent a few years in lower knowle and then flew off to new zealand.
i assumed the whole family moved but maybe they didnt.hope im not being too much of a pain
thankyou so much for your help

Hi Krissy,

Glad to help.  :D

Kezia/Keziah is not really an uncommon name. I have a few in my tree. Must be one of those names that died out along the way cas when you questioned it and I started writing I realised that although it is not that uncommon in my own tree and I come across it often while helping others in their research, I do not recall ever having met a person with the name. Guess there are a lot of names like that.....Kris  ;D

People seemed to like adding an 'h'. I have several Marias who have to be Mariah !!

Very wet and cold here - had to put the heating back on today.

hi my name is stuart jefferis i am from new zealand . i beleive we may have the answers to james jefferis and his heritage . i am pretty sure he was my dads great great great grandfather ? there is a book that we have that has all our ancestors and if you wanted i could put you in conntact with the author or i can get you a copy and post it to you.  when the jefferis moved from dunedin and headed north to the waikato they purchased land in Waerenga . we still own and farm the original farm , i am the 4th generation to farm the property i believe we have owned it for 137 years ?  My dad sam found you on google and was quite excited to see your search reuest. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we have the right family , cheers stu
