Wow, that was quick.  ;D
Thank you very much Elaine.

Apologies for off-topic rant.  ;D )

Apologies also to the generous soul who did you a great favour ... then you reward her by getting her name wrong!  ::)
I expect the windows were on BoGoF - it looks like it anyway.
Ahem, but may I point my learned friend to the very first message in this thread, and to the name at the end of the message?

Ouch!  :'(

Clearly a plot that the pair of you have been hatching up for weeks, to lure a mere male into such an unwitting riposte.  Looking back at all the posts, I can spot the softening-up process, the smiling bonhomie, when all the time you were there to bring me down to a shuddering, painful halt.  Only a week after I was quarantined too.  :-X

This comes after a most stressful and tearful week.  First I find that John DANN spent 1861 census night in Spalding gaol.  Then I discover his father Thomas was transported for 14 years for stealing a sheep (OK, he had previous form for stealing a saddle).  Finally John DANN's nephew, Tolly McCANN (Poulterer) was in Louth gaol in 1871*.  John DANN married Harriet Matilda BROUGH, a sister of an ancestor of mine, her brother George (variously described as a Horse Coper, a Calf Jobber and a Cattle Dealer - I wonder what he did to sheep?) also found his way to Spalding gaol in 1871.  What is it with people from Boston?

*He made good and in 1901 was a Feather Merchant.
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

If there's a video, it doesn't work for me.

Strange - it seems to work fine for me but you have to click 'Play Video' and then click 'Play'.  Anyway, you've probably seen enough water!

I hope your family are all safe and that your in-laws have managed to recover their car.  The stories we are hearing lately are quite terrifying and everyone seems to be so helpless.  Whilst you wait to see what the Severn and Avon are going to do I'm on Trent watch - no warnings yet but like the Severn it usually takes a couple of days.

Hi Elaine

Thank you for your very kind offer. I wondered whether 170 High Street, Lincoln is still standing - I had family living there in 1861. I would love a photo if it is.

Many thanks
Rosie
