Wow, thank you so much, this is amazing!!!  I'm going to print these to help me make sense of it all.

I have another favour to ask but if it's too much, I'll understand.

In my haste, I left out the most important record:  the death of my husband's grandfather, who died when my mother-in-law was three years old:

Also, it looks like I asked for the wrong Jane Conrad's death.  I'm going by someone's online info and I'd like to be have a source document to show me if it's the right person.  Would you please look up these two other deaths?

The online info has her death as 31 December 1927.  Her husband was James Peter Conrad.  I have her middle name as Cecilia (I don't know where I got that) and this other person has it as Drucilla.  He's got her date of birth as 14 January 1836 and I've got, from the 1911 census, January 1935.  She had a son whose name might have been Elijah (it's "Eliagh" in the 1911 census).

Not sure if either Jane Conrad is the one you want. Briefly,
Jane Conrad d.1921 Eastern Passage, Dartmouth, Halifax, aged 88 (born c1833) was in a home for 6 years and very little information on certificate.
Jane Conrad d.1930, aged 85 (born c1845), maiden name Ferguson.
Could either of these be the one you want?

Janice -- Thank you very much!  We didn't know Alfred Parker's birthday or occupation, so this is wonderful.  One of his grandchildren shares his birthday and one wants to be a mechanic, so it's really great to have this!

aghadowey -- Thank you again!  Gee, it looks like maybe this Jane Conrad's death might have been recorded only by a church or an obit and not by an official death record.     I don't know where that person got the death date of 31 December 1927.  Her maiden name was Gaetz.  Her husband's name was James Peter Conrad.  According to the info I saw online, James Peter Conrad died in April 1908.  I think their son was Elijah.  Their daughter was Eliza Jane Conrad.  But Eliza Jane Parker (nee Conrad) died in 1906 so she wouldn't have been mentioned on a death record for Jane Conrad (nee Gaetz).
