census look up please

I cannot find my Uncle Luke or his widow ?? Hoyle who lived in Douglas IoM.
 
Luke was born about 1863 in Liverpool Lancs, I have not been able to find him on any but the  1871 census.  He lived in India/Ceylon, for some years then settled in the IoM which is where I believe he died. 
 
I think that his widow remarried after his death and then became Richardson, they lived in Douglas, but then divorced.

I am told that she reverted to her first married name before she died in the 1970 ish any information would be appreciated.  I do not know her Christian name

Were his parents John and Mary, as he is the only Luke Hoyle that I can see on the 1871 census, if so he was living with his brother John in 1881

Yes they were, I have tracked him to 1871 but had not been able to find him after that.

Hi Ricky,

Thanks so much for the 1881 info, for that completes the Liverpool set to 1901.  I had not got that one.  Now with that information I  have all the census returns for the family back to 1841. 

I want any information on G.Uncle Luke when he was living in the IoM really.  I never did know his wifes name or anything about him, other than the infomation I put in my first request, nor could I find him on ancestry .co.uk.  I am sure that he is the man driving the car in the picture that I put up for restoration a few weeks ago.  All I know is that they lived in Douglas for years.  I wanted to find his death, where he is buried and any other info there might be in local papers.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Brian    Lawson's     site     gives  some  Manx       BMD   -----lawsons.ca

Luke    Hoyle    died     aged     81    buried    Onchan      26   /10   /   1944

There   are    9    other     burials  listed    for    Hoyle     from   1732    to    1972   mainly    in   Onchan   &   Braddan

one   in   Douglas    Borough   Cemetery  .   I t   seems   possible   they    may   all    be  " yours "  .   MI   indexes     are

available   .   Regret   cannot   help    at    present   but    someone    else   on   this   board   may.  If   not   ask 

me    next   month    when    I    will   have    the    time.

Thanks so much for that.  It sounds about right as well.  Where is Onchan?  I have never been to the IOM.

Where would one get a death certificate? Do they have the records in the GRO or the House of keys?  Do they still cost the same??

of   the   island. [  Luke    Hoyle    may    have   lived   in   Douglas ]
