No, I've seen that one, but mine got married in 1840 so unless there was some kind of miracle, it can't have been him.

I suppose it may be worth checking further, but I'm sure the marriage date is 14th june 1840, at Rathen.

Regards,

Jen

Hi Jen,

Ref your Milne line hopefully Aberdeen have a look at this site, click on Family tree then the letter M, scroll down to Milne name. You may be lucky with it. I am having problems with my computer at the moment and when I click on Family tree it will not take me there so I cannot have a look for you.
I am connected to Alexander Fraser Milne who married Agnes Stephenson.

I have a Catherine Birnie (died aft. 1895) married to a William Park. Their son Charles Park (b.1867) married (Dec 1895) a Margaret Cowie (b.1876) in North Craighill, Strichen. Their son a Charles Park (b.1897) born in Sandhole, Techmuiry, Strichen. He married (Jun 1925) a Mina Ross Findlay (b.1897) in Ban-Car, Lonmay.

I also have a few Milne's (George, Robert, Elsie Sheriffs, Elspet, and others) mostly around Insch and Premnay, in Aberdeenshire.

I also have Duncan's but mine are from Tarves.

I have Smith's from Kincardine and various spots around Insch, Kennethmont, Huntly, etc.

Hi,

I have 3 x great grandparents James Raitt and Christian Chrichton ( spelling variable) who married in New Machar, 1832. Their youngest daughter, Jane Raitt ( b 1849) had two illegitimate children, Peter Grant Raitt ( 1870) and James Raitt ( 1873)
Peter Grant Raitt was my great grandfather.

I know that James Raitt snr was the son of William Raitt and Margaret Martin. I have more on the Martin line but nothing further on the Raitts except that they came from the Belhevie area.

Christian Chrichton was the daughter of William Chrichton and Mary Brechin or Briken.

I can take the Chrichton line back three more generations to a William Chrichton who must have been born around 1700 as he had a son who married in 1749.

Does any of this match up with your family?

Regards,

Jen
