 I thought the same as you that the little devil had used a different name as there is a James Bance on the 1891 living only a few doors away  ;D ;D ;D

Interesting, they were enumerated as Barnes in 1881 .....

but no amount of coaxing has teased out Mum, Dad & Fanny in 1891   ???

Clincher is probably Ellen Bance born Cooling a few doors away in Service in the Vicarage ...
