Hi Bruce,
So glad you've posted your message on RC. It's been so long since I've had time to look at my family history 'stuff' - it's made me look it all out and got me enthused again! I too have a copy of the will you're after, which shed light on John Anderson having a 2nd wife Janet Rae (b. Shotts 1797). Janet Rae and John married 30 Jan 1831, their children, John Rae, Peter, Christian and Janet (but you possibly know this already). Interestingly, whilst John Rae became Mayor in Illinois, John's (rural postman in Bathgate) son to his first wife Janet Binning, Smith Anderson, became Lord Provost of Kilsyth in the late 1800's. That Smith Anderson is my 2x Great Grandfather.  Will send you a personal message as I've other things to ask you.
Kind Regards,
Lesley

Hi Billy,
Nice to hear from you again. Hope you are all keeping well too.  I'll see if I can remember how to do attachments and send it on to Bruce. I lost many of the documents I had saved when my PC crashed some time ago. So I've been having to build it all up again. Lesson to be learned there methinks!
Best Wishes, Lesley

Hi Billy/Lesley/Betty,

Greetings from California! Stumbled upon this site today and have been reading through the posts on the Anderson lineage. All of it is very fascinating! Smith Anderson (Bathgate) is my 3x great grandfather. My grandfather was Smith Chesley Anderson Jnr. Are you able to share Smith Anderson's Will papers and Smith Anderson Kilsyths passport paperwork if you still have copies? I'd love to add to my very limited historical archive. I have some information on the voyage to America that my grandfather shared years back that I am happy to dig up if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Tyler
