Collins..Prolley Moor/Bishops Castle
« on: Sunday 20 May 07 18:14 BST (UK) »

Hi,

my 4x gt grandfather, John Collins, b abt 1779, Prolley Moor, was married twice. His first wife, Elizabeth (nee Watters) b1782, Bishops Castle (d1817), and his second wife, Sarah (nee Watters) b 1786 Bishops Castle (d1867). How do I find out if these two women were related.

A quick look on LDS gives me lots of Collins and Watters. I'm confused. lol.

Thanks,

Hi Red

I did what you asked  :)

The IGI have the following (controlled extraction, so pukka)

Elizabeth Watters
bpt 27 October 1782, Bishops Castle
Parents - John Watters and Rebecca

Sarah Watters
bpt 21 March 1784, Bishops Castle
Parents - Edward Watters and Catheine

It might be that they were cousins. Maybe check if John and Edward are brothers?

Well, now that's three of your lines that I've been involved in - so roll on the rest  ;D

I can't find a marriage for Edward/Catherine in England - maybe over the border in Wales or just not recorded  :(

Added - you could try wills on the Nat Archive site  :)
