That does look very promissing. I know there were family links with that part of the country much later. My mother was born at Sturminster Marshall but went to the girls grammar school at Guildford. I don't have the birth certificate, only those for marriage and death. I think it worth sending for this one.

Grrrr where are they 

I have looked on wildcards for Edward G and Rose E and the parents, also looked on the mothers maiden name just in case    I have looked at Wilkin, Walkin and zilch

Ok  Now looked at the census for Merrow at Lower Lodge is Samuel Watkins 87 retired dom coachman, with wife Mary and son Samuel groom, will keep looking
