Moving from Cornwall to Dover
« on: Tuesday 22 May 07 14:24 BST (UK) »
Hi
I think I may have located some of my missing ancestors in Cornwall!

At some point between 1796 and 1802 I believe they moved to the Dover area.

Would I be likely to find a settlement certificate for the family and if so, any ideas where this would be?

The family in question are:  James and Ann Durand(t)

Any help - as ever - very much appreciated

Hi KPM

I really wouldn't like to comment on the possibility of you finding a settlement examination/certificate etc. but surviving parish chest records for Dover, although you don't mention the parish, should be with Canterbury Cathedral Archives:

Hi Casalguidi

Thanks for the link.  I know its probably a bit of a long shot but I can't think how I can confirm that the family I have found in Cornwall are the same family I have in Kent.

Always worth a try ;D

Thanks again for the help
