Emily HOLES, Lizzie HOLES and Sidney RANDALL

Can anyone solve a mystery. I seem to have 2 women in the same family who married the same man.

It looks as if Emily Ellen Holes b 1877 Luton, Bedforshire m Sidney Randall in 1911.
Then,
he seems to have married Lizzie Holes in 1918. She was born in 1884.

It would suggest that Emily may have died.

but I have just gone through deaths 1911 - 1918 and could find no Emily E Randall of the right sort of age.

So -are you sure it is the same Sidney Randall as groom at each marriage?

that's kind of you liz - I suppose if you get the certificates and check the fathers it would help - he wouldn't have committed bigamy surely  and it would be such a coincidence to both marry men of the same name.

Thank you. No - I am not sure. He crops up on each of the marriages. he is definitely the spouse in the 1918 marriage but he is on the 1911 list for Emily - unless they were friends and he got married on the same day as her but it is a coincidence.

yes I saw that and wondered the same thing too- that could be possible! Looks like certificates... you could look for a death for Ethel Randall who would be the other wife.

It could be a case of cousins marrying cousins, or something like that
