Lisburn Birth record 1816 DIMOND

Am looking for a birth record for Andrew DIMOND b 1816 in Lisburn.
He was later transported to Australia in 1836 for larceny.

Hello paxisnz,

The National Archives of Ireland holds a wide range of records relating to the transportation of convicts from Ireland to Australia covering the period 1788 to 1868. In some cases these include records of members of convicts' families transported as free settlers.

I'm not certain whether Andrew's name would be on the records held in the National Archives since he came from the north of Ireland. This is the third message about a transportee I've posted ... I'll make a note in the meantime and get back to you at a later stage.

Sorry  -  should have included more info. He was BORN in lisburn but was transported from Salford in Lancashire - picking pockets!! So presumably would not be on the Irish records for transportation.

There was one Dimond listed in Griffiths Valuation of Co. Antrim 1861-2

Hugh Dimond, Poleglass, Derryaghy, Antrim

The other Dimonds were in Mid to North Antrim.

It may prove difficult getting records of a birth in the early 1800s.
