Having coffee here! Got to keep the adrenalin going for searching hee hee

Maybe we should be searching for Albertina under the name ANN... Hilary said that on a census both Albertina snr & jnr  were called Ann.

I have found an Ann Roberts b 1824 (17, ind.) living in Stepney, London , Not born in county in 1841. The reason I am mentioning this is that Albertina and Edwin Jenkins were married in st Giles , Cripplegate, and kids born in  Shoreditch . I am not sure if these areas are close to each other. ???

Stepney, Whitechapel, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green all next door to each other.

Do you think that might be her and she went to Bath to visit her family and met Edwin and he and she fell in love and he went to live in London with her ????? everyone loves a good love story.

That would perhaps explain why they married in London and not in Bath, where their families were.

The church they wed at is in the Whitechapel area from what I can make out.

Have you given Hilary the news about Ann Roberts ?

Not sure what would have qualified her as an Independent - do you think that she came into some money ?

Hi Fizzy

Hopefully Hilary comes in soon!

I am still looking for Albe/ann and Edwin on the 1861. >:(

In 1871 Edwin (chair maker b Bath) and "ANN'  (wife , b BATH)are with their children in Hackney... they have "Ann" 20, unm servant b London
Maria 12 scholar b London
Sarah 8 sholar b London

even having Maria b c 1859 does not help with the search !

Deb

OOPs ... have just seen a death:
Maria Jenkins , Brentford Middlesex
Jun Quarter 1865...I wonder if that is Edwin and Albertina's child ?

Hello Deb and Fizzy,

You have both been busy while I have been sleeping... I live in Australia.
I'm just going to go have a look at the Ann in Stepney.

The witnesses to Edwin and Albertina's marriage were William Alcock [X his mark], and Margaret Alcock.
