Rhoscolyn Chapels + churches
« on: Wednesday 23 May 07 15:07 BST (UK) »
Repeat request I have from the 1891 census information which said Elzabeth Ann daughter of Morris  and Jane Owen born Rhoscolyn about 1883. Have hit the "BIGWALL". I have for  the last 4yrs scourced registry office without any luck in finding the biirth certificate.Has anyone access to any church records which might exist for Rhoscolyn Parish and would be kind enough to see if  there is any entry where the father of the child was a Morris Owen. Have tried the registry offices with no success. Although it said Elizabeth Ann was born 1883. I have found a marriage for a Morris Owen to a Jane Jones in 1875 in Rhoscolyn , this is a long time before Elizabeth Ann was born in 1883 . Just wish to confirm that maybe Jane Jones was her mother. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Can't help with Rhoscolyn but have you seen the 1901 census
RG13/5284/36/28
at Penbraich, Tregarth, Llandegai, Caernarvonshire
Morris Owen 48 Slate quarry man b. Llandegai
Jane Owen 55   b Llanfairynghornwy, Anglesey
Elizabeth Ann Owen 18 Dressmaker b Llandegai, Caernarvonshire

Is this the same family?

There are two births registered in Bangor in 1882 - Sept q 11b 513 and Jun q 11b 538. Might be worth looking at if you haven't already.

Regards, Fairlane

Hi Yes I know about the different place of birth between the 1891 and 1901 census. Also both register offices say they do not have any Elizabeth Ann born about 1883 who had a father named Morris Owen. Hence my request to see if there was any parish record which might unearth the birth,It was from the address in 1901  census that Elizabeth Ann was married in 1903 Thank you for taking an interest in my request.
