Smart of Leicestershire

Trying to find GGrandfather's birth cert.

JOHN SMART bc 1838 SHEARSBY Leicestershire.

According to '41,'51,'71,'81 census his parents were THOMAS SMART b c 1811 Leicestershire & ELIZABETH bc 1816 Leicestershire.

I've tried Free BMD & Free reg & IGI looking for either a birth cert for John or a marriage between Thomas & Elizabeth and the only one i can find is a 'submitted' form  for an 1836 June 27th marriage in Whitwick for a Thomas Smart & Elizabeth Wright. Could be o'k but i'm wary of 'submitted'!!!

But---it looks like one of the other sons could have the given name of Wright as this name appears on the1851 census

I actually received a birth cert today for one JOHN DAVIS SMART born Leicestershire Jan 1838 but am sure it is a wrong 'un as there is no father and wrong mother's name.
I'm going round in circles.

Does anyone have access to parish registers in either Whitick/Shearsby and could take a look for me please?  Thankyou. Poli

The entry that you give for Thomas & Elizabeth does look promising as i assume the disc holds 'extracted ' records?

If you can check for both birth & marriage at the records office i would be very grateful. I'm away for a week from Sunday but i look forward to seeing what you can find on my return. Many thanks Poli.

So looks like you will have order the Certificate of that John Smart

John’s Mother might well have gone home to her Mother's for birth ?

Mike, thought i'd let you know that the info you found for me--below-- was correct.  Just received birth cert for John Smart and parents names fit.

Also received his death cert with names,address all fit in with what i know.

What Parish was the birth for John then ?

John's birth is given as being in Shearsby and the cert is headed--Lutterworth in the counties of Leicester,Warwick&Northampton.

I'm now going to try and sort out his father Thomas's parents who i mentioned in another post.

They may   be a MOORE Smart & Mary., but not sure.

In the other post i wrote about Moore possibly married to a Jane --so 2 marriages or 2 different Moores!! You gave me some info then but i need to dig deeper to verify anything.

Am also looking into ELIZABETH WRIGHT b c1818 Shearsby.who was John's mother.

Eliz & Thomas married in 1836 so too early for a cert but you found the marriage from your C.D.
