on checking the 1899 one cant be Lilian.

Her mum was born in 1887 and died in 1966,so that would make her mum 2 when she had her !

Doesn't help you go further back but there is a death in Nottingham June 1987 Kenneth Lionel Bayliss d o b 29/9/1942 and a birth Dec. qtr 1942 Kenneth L Bayliss mothers maiden name Smith registered at Basford ref. 7b 238

I haven't found a marriage for Lilian and Walter STEVENSON, and I can't find a death for Lilian STEVENSON in Nottingham in 1986 - the only one that year appears to be in Cleveland... ???

Lilian Stevenson               Cleveland      (dob 22 Aug 1917)

Unfortunately none of the Lilian Smiths born in the Sep 1917 quarter have mothers whose maiden name is Lowe.

I'm still not quite sure what it is you want to find out, as you appear to know something about previous generations already.
