Hi Kate - If you do a search at  http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl   
you will see only 4 entries, so Melville was not a common name in Herefordshire.

This service is still incomplete?  but well worth using.   You can sarch bordering counties, there are overlaps sometimes with census and registrations.  Fred
