Looking for Info on James Youd (1850), from Frodsham.

I have info on him from the 1871 and 1881 census.

I think he died before the 1891 Census though.

Would like to know his Father and Mother.

I think his wife is Ann Carrington and was married in St Lawrance, Frodsham.

Thats quick, thanks.  New to this site and the whole looking up your ancestory.  Problem is I now live about 300 miles from Cheshire (in Scotland), so I have a perception that access to information is going to have to be either via the internet orbooks/CD's.

How did you manage to look up the info.  I have access to ancestory.co.uk, but couldn't find the 1841-1861 census info online anywhere.

If it is a CD based system, what is the quality of the index like, and who makes it?

Hi Paul
Below are 3 sites that you can purchase cd's from, between them you should be able to find the 1841,51 & 61 also 71 but that is online as your probably aware.
Only the 1851 has a name index and is in general terms mostly readable, the 1861 is ok as well though only indexed by townships, the 1841 is quite poor and in parts unreadable, again its only indexed by township. Hope this helps.
If you need any more info please ask
