Question about Search

Perhaps this has already been answered, but I could not find it.

Is there any way to search through members' profiles for names they are researching?
For example, is there any way for me to find out if any other member is researching KREIN, if they have not used the name in a post?

Hi Loo,

I don't know of any way to search profiles (i.e. signatures).

All you can do is use Search RootsChat, in the hopes that they have mentioned the name(s) at some time ¹,
and to look in the Surname Interest Table (SIT) in the hope that they have entered their name interests there.²

Just thought of a third possibility:  for uncommon names, you might find it through a search engine (if it's in their signature), as these index everything on a page, including signatures (on that page).
e.g. krein site:www.rootschat.com ³

I see what you mean.  I think google has some provision for that kind of search.

Thanks for answering my question.  I thought not.

I was really just hoping for some way to check periodically as to whether a new member had joined who might be following any of my 3 less common names. Very eager to find someone!!
