McGuires of Fauldhouse
« on: Wednesday 30 May 07 00:31 BST (UK) »
I am still looking for any info on the McGuire family that lived in Braeside Terrace.  Margaret McGuire nee' Hamilton died in 1932, I have not yet found the death of her husband James.  They had a daughter Isa who I have been told had a daughter named Pearl, who possible worked in London. James was a Freemason in Fauldhouse, as were his brothers.  Margaret and James were married in Linwood, Paisley.  Margaret was the sister of my grandfather, William Hamilton, who moved to Cape Breton c1911.
Thanks for any (no matter how small) info on this family.

The Burial Register CD compiled and published by West Lothian Family History Society (www.wlfhs.org.uk) lists four interments in Lair no. I-12 at Fauldhouse Cemetery.  They are:

Margaret Hamilton McGuire - age 3 - interred 15May1917
Rosa Mills - age 56 - interred 30Jun1926
Margaret McGuire - age 47 - interred 13Dec1933
James McGuire - age 86 - interred 23Oct1970

Looks like your family and if you are looking for James death on ScotlandsPeople 1970 is too late, of course.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for looking that up for me.  I hadn't expected James to have died in 1970!  I might now be able to find an obit for him.  Thanks again.
