Stratford Library

Does anybody know if the Archives & Local Studies centre within the Stratford Library hold all parish records for West Ham, Leyton & Forest Gate?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, can't think of their phone number off hand. If you look at the Newham website, the number should be there.
But if you do contact them, they're always helpful.  ;)
Ask for Richard Durack or Jenni Munro-Collins.
However, they probably won't have anything for Leyton as it's a different borough.

Thanks Crozier.  I'm hoping to grab a day in London tomorrow, so i'll ring them 1st thing to check.  This is all a new area to me and getting to grips with the parishes is like a maze!!

Newham Archives and Local Studies Library based at Stratford Library:

or for general info on Stratford Library:

To find out about parishes around Stratford you could try the East of London FHS,

I think Leyton comes under the Borough of Waltham Forest. Info on the web for this area is harder to find, but you could try these links,

Just a quick note to say that for Leyton Vestry House have a very useful card index by surname which is very likely to cross-refernce parish registers and census etc. Very useful
