From your information, the only specific irish location I gleaned is  the marriage of Hugh and Margaret Marriage:   11 1849   Rasharkin Parish, County Antrim . I cant tell if you have seen a marriage certificate
Then I tried
http://www.from-ireland.net/lewis/ant/rasharkin.htm this shows sources for BMDs etc
eg Rasharkin
Baptisms: Aug 16th, 1848 - Nov 13th, 1880
Marriages:: July 20th, 1848 - Dec 4th, 1880
NLI Pos. 5476
Baptisms: 1848-1881
Marriages: 1848-1881
The Roman Catholic parish of Rasharkin is surrounded, or touched on, by the following R.C. parishes: Portglenone, Ahoghill, Kirkinriola, Dunloy and Ballymoney, all in CO. Antrim. It is also bordered by Cumber upper and Kilrea in Co. Derry

So I spun that around looking at www.familysearch.com and found
Margaret McIlvaney      Compact Disc #64     Pin #628679  Pedigree
Sex: F
Event(s):
 Birth:   abt 1834
  Co. Antrim, Ireland
  Steam Loom Warper
 Death:   2 Jan 1890
  Port Glasgow
Parents:
Father:  Hugh McIlvaney     Disc #64     Pin # 628710
Mother:  Agnes Lamont     Disc #64     Pin # 628685
Marriage(s):
 Spouse:  Joseph McSloy (AFN: )
 Marriage:
 Spouse:  William McAtasney (AFN: )
Submitter:
 Jacqueline BAXTER
20 Muirhead Drive, Linwood, Renfrewshire, PA3 3JP, British Isles
Submission Search:  991174-0623103171526
 URL:
 CD-ROM:  Pedigree Resource File - Compact Disc #64
This could be a red herring, but someone has done research and by the look of McIlvaney on familysearch, there is or was another researcher , you might be able to get more

Then I thought about the McILVENNA  who stayed in  Ireland and found two Canadians with Ballymena connections.  I used a google search for Ballymena 1914-1918
McILVENNA, William, 809001, Private,  50th Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regt.), was KIA on the 3rd June 1917.  Aged 31, a farmer, and a resident of Canada for about 12 years, he was the 5' 11" son of William and Rose McIlvenna, Cloughogue, Gracehill, Ballymena.  He is buried in La Chaudiere Military Cemetery, France.
McILVENNAN, William B,  238211, Private, 54th Bn.Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regt.), died of  wounds on the 9th August 1918. A mechanical engineer by trade, he lived at 113E/168th Street, New York, USA and enlisted in Toronto. He sailed to England on the SS Saxonia in February 1917 and on the 27th of the same month the 5' 5.5" McIlvennan went to the field with the 54th Battalion.  He sustained gunshot wounds on the left thigh and left arm on the 8th August and was evacuated by ambulance to No 48 CCS, dying there the next day. He was the son of William and Mary McIlvennan, of 27, Mount St., Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Ireland. He is buried Villiers-Bretonneaux Military Cemetery.

So I think I cant get further than that, keep going on Rasharkin records, Jim

wow...thanks for the info. ;D

I haven't a copy of the marriage certificate (have you got a copy? :o) but got the date from the birth certificates of their children born in Scotland.  Unlike their English counterparts after about 1860 Scottish birth certificates record the time and place of the marriage of their parents eg.

Birth cert. No.154

Read my last mail and focus on  www.from-ireland.net/lewis/ant/rasharkin.  The marriage records exist from 1848..
